Creepy Dates Troubleshooting Guide

Work from the least disruptive check first. If your save matters, protect it before clearing browser storage or reinstalling.

Black or white screen

Problem → Fix: The embedded game opens to a blank or solid screen. Reload the page once, wait briefly, then try a current version of another modern browser. This helps separate a temporary tab issue from a browser-specific problem; it does not guarantee every browser or device is compatible.

If you use an ad blocker or privacy extension, temporarily disable it for CreepyDates.dev only, reload, and turn it back on afterward if it made no difference. Do not lower browser security globally. If the screen is still blank, back up any save you care about using an export or backup feature only if the game provides one; then clear cached images and files only. Do not clear cookies or site storage as a cache fix, since that can remove browser-stored progress.

Frozen game, stalled loading, or network error

Problem → Fix: The page loads but gameplay stops, or the embed reports a network error. Reload the game and check whether the rest of the page still responds. The game frame is served by the third-party embed host st.8games.net; this is separate from itch.io, where Hahadit publishes official downloads. If the embed host is unavailable or blocked, use a desktop package from the official download page.

If only one host fails, check your network or content-filter settings for that host before changing the whole device. A VPN is an optional test only when you have confirmed a network restriction and can use a provider you trust; it is not a universal fix. Do not enter game credentials into third-party mirrors or download pages.

Missing or lost browser save

Problem → Fix: Progress disappeared after using private browsing, changing browsers, clearing data, or switching devices. Browser saves may depend on local site storage, so first return to the same browser profile and device you used before. Avoid clearing site data, cookies, or reinstalling again until you have checked for an in-game save or export option.

There is no verified save-transfer path documented in the sources linked here. If the game offers an export or backup command, follow its own instructions and keep a copy in a safe place. Do not assume cookies alone contain the save or that another browser can restore it.

Mobile browser problems

Problem → Fix: The game frame is cropped, controls are difficult to reach, or loading stalls on a phone. Rotate to landscape, close other heavy tabs, and try the latest Chrome or Firefox on Android, or Safari on iPhone and iPad. These are practical browser checks, not a promise that every mobile model or version is supported. Keep the page open while testing and avoid clearing storage if you want to preserve a browser save.

Downloaded game will not open

Problem → Fix: A desktop package fails to launch or you are unsure which file to choose. Start at the official game page, select only a Windows, macOS, or Linux option actually listed there, and follow Hahadit’s current notes for that package. Extract an archive before opening its game file. File names and launch steps can change between releases, so use the instructions shipped with the version you downloaded.

Do not disable your operating system’s security checks just to force an unfamiliar file to run. If a package looks incomplete or is for another platform, return to the official page and choose the appropriate current download.
